Energy Drains in the Landscape – Mother Earth’s Safety Valve Mechanism – Part 2

With the launch of the newly revamped DD website this month that includes digitised talks from the late 90s, this article focuses on the March 1998 one given by Jane Thurnell-Read on the above subject.

In this talk she said these Energy Drains (EDs) can occur at half mile intervals in the landscape and appear to drain negative energy down into Mother Earth, but that they can get blocked. Also, they had mysterious ‘on/off’ switches alongside…..but these drains can be unblocked by using ritual or by placing a certain set of numbers on them on a map.

Back in 2021 I had written an article on this but it’s not until now that I am updating it, for reasons explained below.

At that time, we were in the depths of covid during lockdown and only allowed out for short walks, and, as no one in DD had investigated the subject of Energy Drains (EDs) since then I decided to do some research.

In this article about energy drains I explained that I had contacted Jane to see if she’d done any further research, but she explained that no, other than including in her book of 2006 (Geopathic Stress & Subtle Energy). So, with that in view, I went out looking for these strange Energy Drains… complete with their mysterious ‘On/Off’ switches!’. 

The one that I highlighted in the article back in 2021 (shown in Picture 1) I found about 800m from my house and near a large roundabout on a dual carriageway. I also dowsed for its associated switch although this was inaccessible, being 5m away completely covered in thick brambles and bushes. When I held my pendulum over the centre of ED as I said instead of it spinning like a helicopter as expected, it strangely dampened down to a vertical dead stop, no matter which way I started to swing it, and it felt like it was magnetically being pulled down, as if showing the direction of travel – into the ground.

That was in early spring and in March 21 the article went onto the DD website. (see underlined link above). The whole reason of writing it (apart from boredom in lockdown!) was to “put it out there” again to see what, or if, any other dowsers could find some.

In the following days I went out into the fields and found two others, one on the ground and one about 2m up in the air (!). In each case I found that energy was being drained into an underground layer of energy 3m or 4m down, that followed surface contours and almost appeared ‘silvery.’  I also contacted Mave Calvert to see if she could find some... which she did in Sookholme Woods near where she lives.

Though a series of emails and remote dowsing we verified each other’s clusters of energy drains that we each found near to us, that they were indeed ‘draining’ energy down and had nearby on/off switches. Interestingly these EDs are not associated with water and are different to Mave’s EEVs (Earth Energy Vortices) that she had found previously. Mave found my ED by the A6 roundabout at the edge of an Emperor/Empress Dragon Line running down the A6, which seems to be another feature of these drains. (Although others can be out in the open fields with no energy lines present).

Later that month (March 21) together we both did a joint half hour zoom presentation to the then newly formed Earth Energies Group (set up by Chris Tonge and others from Ridings Dowsers). Mave went through hers and I mine, describing them from photos etc. As with the original article the whole purpose was to present to a wider audience. (The conundrum of course being what were the switches for?…..and moreover who or what switched them on or off………..and Why!  ?)

In the next zoom meeting a good half dozen people reported back their findings. And, yes, they could find them: - In fields, some in houses, and the switches were always 4 or 5m away…even one in a wall.

But the overarching feeling was that no one should be tampering with the switches. This of course was at odds with what Jane had originally said, that blocked drains, often blocked by human activity, could be and should be ‘switched’ back on. By this time, I had done an ‘experiment’….to replicate the A6 roundabout one in my garden. This is something I had successfully done some years earlier…..i.e. rather than repeatedly driving up to Exmoor some 20 miles away to check out a problem. So, lying around at the end of the garden I had some planks of old decking and bricks. With a piece of decking I placed it on the lawn orientated in the same direction as the A6 and, with the dog’s ball, I placed it alongside to represent the ED. With a brick, I roughly placed it 5m away to represent the on/off switch. (See picture 2.)

Then at various intervals I checked the energy drain with my pendulum by holding it over the ball, and, just as the real thing 800m away I could feel a downward force or pull. And just like out on site, if I swung the pendulum randomly over the centre, no matter which way it was swinging or with what speed, it would quickly come to a dead stop over the ED, and I could feel the pull down.

Then I thought: - could I respectfully ask to turn off the switch? So, standing next to it I asked, ”Can I turn of the Energy Drain for 60 seconds please?”... and to my surprise I felt a tingling down my spine and body (something I always feel when spirit comes close) and the answer came “Yes”. On placing my pendulum over it... nothing! It was switched off! So, every so often checking while counting the 60 secs it was off... and then after 60 secs, to my amazement it switched itself back on!

I cannot describe the feeling I had, of what a such honour it was to be allowed to ask this. I felt blessed.

In summary I think the best comment from the 2nd zoom meeting was from Nigel Twinn. He had been out from his house in Tavistock to a nearby set of stones and found the on/off switch was for the whole stone circle. His comment was that nobody had ever before been looking for these switches, because no one had ever before known of them to look for them!

At that time, I was eager to publish a second article on this, but the consensus, mainly from members of Ridings Dowsers was that I shouldn’t as we were still in the midst of Covid 19 and it was wrong to rely so much on remote dowsing rather than people physically dowsing and verifying out in the field.

However, with the passage of time I feel that is now time to write this second article, plus I’ve also had time to do further research on the subject and list below 4 other types of Energy Drains found largely by others. Interestingly, each ‘type’ is of a different magnitude (in size/diameter etc) and possibly for a different purpose than the above one. If we note the above ‘type’ as being Type 1, with its diameter of about 500mm at 1m above ground level, a significantly smaller one can be noted as: -

Type 2 – Energy Drains found at churches and other sacred sites

These are smaller in diameter and placed outside churches to ‘drain’ negative energy away and cleanse the inside of a church after, say, a service where some present might have left negative energy.

These were highlighted by Roy and Ann Procter in their book ‘Healing Sick Houses’ published in 2000 (p117). Roy and Ann, now sadly no longer with us, were long term members of Devon Dowsers and often gave talks on their work. They were on a week-long event on Iona with Bruce MacManaway (Patrick’s dad) where they discovered a ‘black stream’ going out of the church draining the negative energy into an energy drain into Mother Earth.

It seems that our predecessors and the masons who built medieval churches usually allowed for (or placed) these drains by the church allowing for the (black) energy line to pass through a door in the North wall of a church. Very often this door was never opened, or indeed never was intended to be used.

In the past 5 years in most medieval churches (if I remember!) I’ll dowse for the line and termination point outside….and its nearly always there to be found.

Further, and giving credence to these masons putting them there, Ann Procter in her book describes how one can create an energy drain by intent. In her clinic in Bristol she says in her book that in the basement she used to leave a bucket of dirty water to drain all the negative energy from the rooms above. And every so often would throw this water and contents down the drain to keep the building cleansed.

These types of drain don’t appear to have any on/off switch associated with them.

Type 3 – Pencil thin Energy Drains

These can be found anywhere but if located in your house can be very detrimental and draining. (e.g. if you place your armchair over one!)

When I first started researching energy drains in 2021 on ringing around various people I spoke to Adrian Incledon-Webber and he said he had little experience of them although he would be including one in his upcoming book ‘Heal your Home 2.’  We agreed that a better term should be an energy ‘sinkhole’ rather than drain…..but since that time I’ve gone back to the term ‘drain,’ as I find energy at certain times can go back up, as well as down, such as sunrise/sunset and other times.
In his book (checklist no 15) Adrian describes an “Energetic Sink Hole” being in a house where Lucy the Labrador’s bed is. When capped Lucy was completely transformed into a much happier tail-wagging dog!

Type 4 – Cosmo-Telluric Chimneys and the “Breath of Earth.”

Whereas the Type 1 Energy Drains above are typically 0.5m or 0.75m wide these are ’invisible chimneys’ or vertical cylinders measuring 2m or 3m across, but can be found in the landscape in the same way by asking the rods as to point in “which direction,” and “how far” etc.

Back in the very early 1990s a French photographer, Gilbert le Cossec, discovered these and did an enormous amount of work dowsing them. He discovered they were linked to underground telluric current. (He later wrote two books on the subject:  - ‘Le souffle du menhir’ 1998 and ‘Le souffle de la Terre’ 2010).

Now if you look up ‘telluric currents’ online in Brittanica etc., all you will read about is magnetic mapping and electric currents/ions and how they can be affected by solar winds etc. This is not what Le Cossec is talking about/dowsed here.

In his book he describes the mechanism of how Earth breaths and interacts with incoming cosmic particles to self-cleanse and there is a cycle of ‘breathing’ of Gaia much faster than the Type 1 energy drain’s cycle that Mave and I were looking at in 2021.

Monsieur Le Cossec developed a method of photographing Menhirs, churches etc, emitting a breath of energy (See Picture 3) by using a step on from the Kirlian method of photography, the essentials of which are as follows:-

Telluric currents of Gaia: - Our planet has a liquid metal core, in which there are 3 main dense centres rotating in opposite direction to Earth’s rotation. The Celts and Druids knew of this as did the Greeks (naming them the cyclops Arges, Brontès and Steropes)

Magnetic Poles of Earth (North & South): - The Last reversal of poles was 780,000 years ago. These 3 dense masses (planetoids) rotating in the liquid magma can be likened to the rotor arms of an electric motor and set up a swirling effect of energy beneath and in the Earth’s crust, i.e., namely telluric currents.

He describes that this telluric current is movement of ionised type particles/electrons. When investigating the Stonehenge and Avebury area he found there to be an intersection of 3 main telluric currents which are: Firstly, The Great Polar current at a depth of 84m and in a band/layer 60km wide, secondly, the Tyrol current @ 114m deep and a layer 50km wide. And thirdly from under Mexico @ 105m depth and 60km wide. (See Pictures 4a and 4b.) Generally, these currents form spirals and Mandela at intersections. There also exist medium currents 40 to 60m below and then smaller ones nearer to the surface. Our ancestors knew of these currents and utilised them e.g. for healing (via placement of Menhirs)

He also found telluric disturbance happening at differing substrata and in particular at fault lines in the geology and explains Mother Earth is trying to rebalance harmful ionisation via electrons and underground water streams, etc.

In order to rebalance, within Earth’s crust there exists Cosmo-telluric chimneys. These (often on faults) allow the Gaia to breath. These invisible chimneys are vertical cylinders in the ground measuring on average 2m to 3m wide but can be larger. The Ancient peoples knew about these chimneys and saw them as living beings and placed Menhirs and Sacred sites over them. They can be moved around but do tend to come back to their original location.

From these chimneys there is a natural phenomenon of a rhythm of an inhalation of cosmic energy (natural cosmic background particles) for about 2 mins, then a rest of a few seconds, then an exhalation of telluric energy for about 2 mins, before coming to rest again. It is this energy that Monsieur Le Cossec has managed to photograph as plumes and spheres of coloured light being emitted from over the standing stones and church towers etc. (Described as Epi photos). The Earth, by this breathing, is a living being, and this telluric emission is necessary and beneficial energy for all that lives on the planet.

Geobiology in France is quite strong and moving on from the above information of the early 1990s there has been more work done on these chimneys by French Geobiologist Guy Tisson and this is mentioned in Maria Wheatley’s 2014 book ‘Divining Ancient Sites (Chapter 4) and more fully in Monsieur Dominique Susani’s 2011 book ‘Earth Alchemy.’

What Guy Tisson found is that these (Type 4) chimneys have seven concentric rings around them and have a varying number of ‘arms’ (1 to 8) coming out from the centre extending 6m to 9m. (See Picture 5). It could be these are actually different from the Type 4 ones and should be noted as Type 5 (further research required!) However, they certainly are of a larger magnitude being typically 6m in diameter, with their arms extending a further 3m or more from the centre.

Dowsing for them is quite easy and when found if you walk out from the centre the rods should cross and uncross 7 times. Then walking around the circumference, you should be able to count how many arms each has. If just two, then they are usually aligned N/S, otherwise higher numbers just divide up the 360 degrees equally.

They again show Gaia’s rhythmical breathing, breathing out (telluric) for 2 or 3 mins, then a rest for 30 sec, then in again (comic) for 2 or 3 mins, then rest 30 secs, and so on. Standing on the centre with a pendulum will show this if you ask.

This investigation all started with the talk given by Jane Thurnell-Read in 1998. I’d recommend anyone reading this to listen to it on the new 'Videos' footer on the DD website. For me, all these EDs are just one aspect of living Mother Earth’s pulsating lifeforce and energy system of her Earth Energy lines, Vortices, and an underground telluric system of energy. These are in communication with the cosmos by not only ‘beathing’ but also energy beams linking to other planets and star systems, which if we carefully tune into we can see, hear or at least dowse.
